Chairman's Message

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the GulfThoracic Congress 2011, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you all, to participate in this international event, which will be held in Dubai, UAE on 16-19 March 2011 at The Ritz-Carlton- Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC)

The GulfThoracic Congress 2011 is the second joint meeting of the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS), the Emirates Allergy and Respiratory Society (EARS), in collaboration with the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). We take special pride for the second participation of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), the partial sponsorship of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF), the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), In addition to the participation of the Arab Pediatric Pulmonology Association (APPA) and the Gulf Society of Pediatric Respirology (GSPR).

It gives me a great pleasure to invite all health care professionals with interest in pulmonary/ thoracic medicine to once again attend our annual congress in Dubai. Our last meeting was exceptionally successful, informative and enjoyable congress.

GulfThoracic Congress 2011 is a product of a long and sincere work and dedication of all the members of the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee representing both the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS) and the Emirates Allergy and Respiratory Society (EARS) in collaboration with the American College of Chest physicians (ACCP).

The Scientific Committee is planning a very comprehensive scientific program catering for all specialties of Pulmonary/ Thoracic Medicine that will cover state of the art lectures, update presentations, post graduate courses, workshops, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and research abstract presentations covering all fields related to thoracic medicine including but not limited to Asthma/ allergy & immunology, Pulmonary Hypertension, Critical Care Medicine, Lung Cancer, Pulmonary Infections, Thoracic Imaging, Sleep Medicine, Thoracic Surgery, Respiratory Care, Interstitial Lung Diseases, COPD, Interventional Bronchoscopy, and Pediatric Pulmonology

The pharmaceutical Industry is also committed in their support of our congress that will host a large exhibit area and many attractive opportunities to share their products and knowledge with the attendees.

Like last year, the Organizing Committee is working hard to make this event a stimulating occasion both scientifically and socially. Undoubtedly, it will be a great opportunity to see other colleagues and friends and to benefit from the wide spectrum of medical topics to be discussed in this congress.

We will meet you in the glamorous city of Dubai, a fast growing beautiful city with many attractions and rich heritage.
